Salesman Tach was attentive with 2 hours of showing us cars and test driving the one we purchased. 3 dealer “fluff” add-ons/markups. 2 of them were negotiated away. When told we would return the following day and pay cash, he and sales manager “Mike” seemed aggravated. They eventually surrendered to our wish and we did return the next day to buy the car. I rate this transaction as “par for the course”. In order for me to rate a car dealership as excellent or outstanding, they must offer the best value up front and “exceed my expectations”. If you're credit is bad, they don't care to help. They advertise a "fresh start" program to help you get into a vehicle. If you take advantage of this, they treat you differently then someone coming in as a normal finance. I was never shown a physical car. We looked online for a specific used vehicle that included a warranty and was priced a little below average. We found several possibilities and made inquiries. Kearny Mesa Ford's internet salesperson was the first to answer back and immediately offered an appointment. The car was as advertised, and the price was fair. The test drive and financing were immediate, the car was detailed, and we left the lot with the new car in about four hours. Great experience.

The salesman often did not return my emails or phone call. I could not reach him through the dealership phone number after trying twice. I finally had to write a letter to the sales manager to get a response (but not from him). They overcharged me on the sales tax and would not correct it.

Entire process from placing the order to picking up the car and completing financing on the big day was smooth as silk. Kearney Mesa Ford doesn't appreciate customers from out of San Diego county nor has any integrity. I found a 2022 Ford Maverick online and reached out to confirm availability. After receiving their price quote I agreed to it 100% without any negotiation. I only asked if it could be delivered to me as logistically it would be challenging.
